So what is a brain session anyway?
What Actually Happens in a Brain Session?
TL;DR: An ADHDaptive Brain Session is a supportive, client-led space designed for AuDHD minds. It’s not therapy or traditional coaching...it’s a mix of honest conversation, lived experience, and practical guidance tailored to how your brain works. Every session is different, shaped around what you need in that moment.
People often ask what a “brain session” really is.
Is it coaching? Mentoring? Advice? Just someone to talk things through with?
It’s a bit of all of that. Think of it as support, reflection, and practical guidance from someone who understands how an AuDHD brain works day to day.
A client once sent me a message describing her experience. With her permission, I’m sharing parts of it here because she summed it up better than I ever could.
A Safe Place to Be Real
“His calm presence and conscious listening are a gift, and his completely non-judgmental attitude allows me to explore my ideas and needs in a space that feels entirely safe.”
A brain session isn’t about fixing you. It’s about creating a space where you can speak freely, think out loud, and feel seen without pressure or judgement.
Getting Clear on What’s Going On
“He encourages me to clarify my ideas and understand what I’m thinking…”
With an AuDHD brain, thoughts can race, overlap, or come out messy. Sometimes you just need someone to slow things down, reflect them back, and help you untangle what’s going on.
Support That’s Honest and Grounded
“…he also offers me new ideas and insights… encouragement to forgive and accept myself, simultaneously with honest feedback and guidance.”
I don’t just nod and listen. I offer perspective, tools, and honest feedbac, but always with care. The aim is to help you understand yourself better and move forward in ways that feel right for you.
Lived Experience Meets Ongoing Learning
“He has a huge knowledge of AuDHD… and has directly lived this experience personally his whole life.”
Everything I bring to these sessions comes from both study and lived experience. I know what it’s like to have a brain that doesn’t quite fit the mould. That shared understanding often helps people feel less alone and more understood.
Covering the Practical and the Personal
“We’ve looked at procrastination, money, boundaries, relationships… even metaphysics and consciousness.”
There’s no set plan. One week we might talk about time-blindness or burnout. The next, it could be boundaries or something bigger like meaning and direction. You set the focus.
Flexible, Client-Led, and Human
“Whatever’s going on for me, Andrew takes it in his stride and meets me wherever I need to be in that session.”
That’s exactly how it’s meant to be. Every session is different, led by what matters to you, and shaped around how your brain works best.
If this sounds like what you need, get in touch. There’s no pressure, just a calm space to explore what support might look like for you.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is this the same as therapy?
No. A Brain Session isn’t therap...it’s coaching with a focus on reflection, understanding, and practical strategies. It can complement therapy, but doesn’t replace it.
Do I need a diagnosis to book a session?
Not at all. Whether you’re diagnosed, self-identifying, or just exploring your neurodivergence, you’re welcome.
What do we actually talk about?
Anything that matters to you, from time-blindness and burnout to meaning, motivation, or just needing space to think out loud.
How long is a session?
Typically around 55 minutes. But it's flexible depending on your needs and preferences.
Can I try just one session?
Yes. There’s no commitment. You can book a single session and see how it feels before deciding on anything longer term.
