ADHD Coaching for Young Adults and Parent Support Sessions

Calm, practical help with overwhelm, routines and independence

Young adult feeling overwhelmed while trying to manage study, work and daily life

Some young adults reach a point where life starts asking more from them than their brain has been taught how to manage.

Work. College. University. Appointments. Money. Time. Messages. Sleep. Emotions. Decisions.

Parents can often see the struggle clearly, but helping is not always simple.

Step in too much and it can feel like pressure. Step back too far and it can feel like abandonment.

ADHDaptive offers two linked routes: ADHD coaching for young adults, and parent support sessions for parents.

They are not the same thing. Young adult coaching is for the young person directly. Parent support sessions are for parents who want help understanding what is happening and how to support without taking over.

I do not coach children. My coaching work is with adults and young adults who can take part in the process themselves.

Two routes, two different purposes

ADHD coaching for young adults

Coaching is for the young adult directly. It gives them space to talk through what is getting in the way, understand their brain, and build support that fits their life.

Coaching starts with a free coffee and chat, because fit, consent and readiness matter.

Parent support sessions

Parent support sessions are for parents. They give you space to think, talk, understand, and work out what might help at home.

These sessions can be booked and paid for online.

What we might work on

For parents enquiring on behalf of a young adult

Confidentiality and boundaries

Who this is for

This support may be a good fit if your young adult is:

  • Aged 18 or over
  • Diagnosed with ADHD or autism
  • Waiting for an assessment
  • Suspecting they may be neurodivergent
  • Struggling with work, study or independence
  • Overwhelmed by ordinary life admin
  • Finding the jump into adulthood harder than expected
  • Bright and capable, but inconsistent
  • Stuck, anxious, frustrated or losing confidence

A diagnosis is not always needed. If the challenges are there, we can work with what is happening now.

Who this is not for

This is not for children. I do not provide child coaching.

This is also not therapy, diagnosis, tutoring, crisis support, family mediation, or medical advice.

If there are serious safeguarding concerns, acute mental health risks, or crisis-level needs, a more specialist service may be needed.

What I offer is calm, practical ADHD-informed coaching and support.

Frequently asked questions

Do you coach children?

No. I do not coach children. My coaching work is with adults and young adults who can engage in the process themselves.

Can I book coaching for my young adult?

Yes, parents can enquire and pay for sessions. But the young adult needs to be willing to take part. Coaching works best when they have some choice and ownership.

Will I be told what happens in the sessions?

Young adult coaching is confidential. If a parent pays, that does not automatically mean they receive detailed updates. Any sharing needs to be agreed in a way that respects the young adult’s privacy.

What are parent support sessions?

Parent support sessions are for parents who want help understanding and supporting their young adult. They are separate from coaching for the young adult.

Can I book and pay for a parent support session online?

Yes. Parent support sessions can be booked and paid for online through Calendly.

Does my young adult need a diagnosis?

No. A diagnosis can help, but it is not always needed. If they are struggling with ADHD-like challenges, overwhelm, executive functioning, routines or independence, we can work with what is happening.

Is this therapy?

No. This is coaching and practical support. It is not therapy, diagnosis, medical advice or crisis support.

Can this help with university, college or work?

Yes. Sessions can focus on study, work, routines, planning, confidence, communication, overwhelm, deadlines, Access to Work, or reasonable adjustments.

Can parents have sessions if the young adult does not want coaching?

Yes. Parent support sessions can still be useful. They can help you understand what may be happening and think through how to support without escalating pressure.
