1. Purpose

This policy sets out how ADHDaptive Ltd approaches safeguarding and the steps taken to protect people from harm.

2. Who this applies to

This policy applies to clients, including adults and young people, and to any future associates, contractors, or partners working with ADHDaptive Ltd.

3. Safeguarding approach

ADHDaptive Ltd takes a practical and proportionate approach to safeguarding.

  • Taking concerns seriously
  • Listening without judgement
  • Keeping clear boundaries within coaching and support work
  • Acting where there is a risk of harm

4. Boundaries of coaching

Coaching is not therapy, crisis support, or a safeguarding service.

If a situation falls outside the scope of coaching or support, ADHDaptive Ltd may:

  • Encourage contact with appropriate services
  • Pause or stop sessions if needed
  • Take appropriate action if there is a risk of harm

5. Safe working environments

As a principle, coaching is not conducted in private home addresses.

Sessions take place in:

  • Public settings, such as cafés or co-working spaces
  • Booked professional locations
  • Online via secure platforms

This supports both client and practitioner safety.

6. Recognising concerns

Safeguarding concerns may include, but are not limited to:

  • Risk of harm to self or others
  • Abuse, neglect, or exploitation
  • Situations where someone is unable to keep themselves safe

7. Responding to concerns

If a safeguarding concern arises, ADHDaptive Ltd will:

  • Listen and take the concern seriously
  • Record relevant information clearly
  • Encourage appropriate support or reporting
  • Take further action where necessary to reduce risk

8. Emergency contact information

Emergency contact details may be requested and held where appropriate.

These are only used in situations where there are serious concerns about a client’s safety or wellbeing.

9. Confidentiality and information sharing

Coaching and support conversations are confidential within normal boundaries.

Confidentiality may be broken if there is a risk of harm to you or others, or where required by law.

10. Whistleblowing

ADHDaptive Ltd encourages anyone with concerns about the conduct of a coach, associate, contractor, or partner to report them without fear of retaliation.

All reports are taken seriously and handled in line with this policy.

11. Safer practice and training

ADHDaptive Ltd is committed to safeguarding awareness and continuous learning.

Any future associates, contractors, or volunteers will be subject to appropriate checks where relevant, including references or DBS checks where needed.

12. Emergency situations

If anyone is in immediate danger, call 999 or contact Adult Social Care in your local area.
