ADHDaptive is based near Morpeth. I provide practical ADHD coaching for adults across Northumberland, including Morpeth, Ashington, Blyth, Cramlington, Alnwick and the surrounding areas.

Sessions can be face to face, online, by telephone or without video. Face-to-face coaching can mean sitting somewhere quiet, meeting in an accessible local venue, or walking if moving makes it easier to think and talk.

No pressure. Just an informal conversation about what is getting in the way and what might help.

A genuinely local ADHD coach

Northumberland is not a location I have added to a national list of places. It is where I live, work and run ADHDaptive.

Based near Morpeth

I understand the practical side of living here. The county is huge. Public transport varies wildly, a short-looking journey can take much longer than expected, and many specialist services sit outside the county.

We agree a format and location around access, travel, energy and what helps you feel comfortable. There is no assumption that everybody should travel into Newcastle or spend another hour on a video call.

Support that fits real life

You might be newly diagnosed, questioning ADHD for the first time, struggling at work, trying to recover from burnout, or simply tired of systems that never seem to stick.

Coaching gives us space to work on the problem in front of you. Not an imaginary perfectly organised life. Yours.

What ADHD coaching can help with

People rarely arrive with one neat coaching goal. Usually several things have become tangled together.

Work and burnout

  • Feeling overwhelmed by competing demands
  • Starting, prioritising and finishing work
  • Preparing for difficult conversations
  • Reasonable adjustments and Access to Work
  • Recovering after pushing for too long

Daily life

  • Time blindness and missed appointments
  • Routines that disappear after three days
  • Working memory and losing track
  • Clutter, admin and unfinished tasks
  • Making decisions without getting stuck

The emotional bit

  • Overwhelm and emotional reactions
  • Rejection sensitivity
  • Shame after years of struggling
  • Understanding a late diagnosis
  • Working out what is ADHD and what is you

Walking ADHD coaching in Northumberland

Sitting still and maintaining eye contact is not everybody's best thinking environment. A walking session can take some of that pressure away. Movement may help thoughts flow, and silence tends to feel less awkward when you are walking beside someone rather than facing them across a table.

Walking is an option, not a coaching gimmick and not a requirement. We choose an appropriate public route and talk about access, pace, weather, privacy and safety beforehand. Sitting-down sessions remain available.

ADHD coaching across Northumberland

I work from near Morpeth and agree face-to-face arrangements directly with each client.

South-east Northumberland

Morpeth, Ashington, Blyth, Bedlington, Cramlington, Newbiggin-by-the-Sea and nearby communities are the closest part of the county to my base.

Face-to-face work may also be possible elsewhere in Northumberland. Travel and location need to make practical sense for us both, so we agree that before booking.

Rural and northern Northumberland

Alnwick, Amble, Rothbury, Hexham, Berwick and rural communities face a different access problem. Distance matters. So do limited transport, caring responsibilities and the energy a long journey takes.

Online, telephone and no-video sessions keep coaching available when travelling is not realistic. We can mix formats rather than forcing every session into the same shape.

About your coach

I am Andrew Lambert, an ADHD and autism coach and the founder of ADHDaptive. I was diagnosed with combined-type ADHD at 50 after burnout ended my previous career in IT infrastructure, security and governance.

I hold the AoEC Practitioner Diploma in Executive Coaching, I am a Member of the Association for Coaching, and I have an NCFE Level 2 qualification in Understanding Autism.

Qualifications matter. So does knowing what it feels like when an apparently capable adult can no longer hold everything together.

How I work

I do not hand you a generic planner and tell you to try harder. We look at what is happening, what keeps breaking down and what your brain is already doing to cope.

Then we test practical changes. Some will work. Some will not. We keep the useful ones and drop the rest without turning that into another personal failure.

  • Weekly or fortnightly sessions
  • Face to face, walking, online or telephone
  • Captions, transcripts and written session summaries available
  • Clear pricing with one-off and longer-term options

Finding ADHD support in Northumberland

Coaching is one form of help. It is not therapy, medical treatment or a replacement for diagnosis. The harder problem is often knowing which kind of support you need and where to find it locally.

I have written a separate local guide about rural access, workplace support and the gaps adults face across the county.
